Here’s your weekend poor man’s ensemble.

Friday night
They say if you don’t like the weather here, wait 15 minutes. That seemed pretty true today when snow squalls would pop out of seemingly no where and dump snow on us. Snow squalls are dependent on wind direction, so they’ll keep going tonight since the winds will remain as strong southwesterlies. We’ll see about 5 cm of snow in general, but if a squall holds over one area for a long time we could see up to 10 cm. Low tonight minus 2.
•••
Saturday
Winds will move into the west, so that should cut down the squalls but there will still be a slight potential. Cloudy skies with sunny periods are expected as a low tracks eastward over the Labrador sea. High minus 1.
•••
Saturday night
Partly cloudy skies are expected overnight as the low tracks towards Greenland and high pressure starts to build over the Maritimes. Don’t be surprised by a little bit of snow. Low minus 3.
•••
Sunday
Winds will veer into the northwest which is another direction from which would could see snow squalls. But we’ll most likely just see partly cloudy skies all day between the low near Greenland and the high over the Maritimes. High minus 4.

Sunday night
Slight potential for snow squalls early in the night. Skies will clear out overnight as high pressure finally moves in. With skies clearing overnight, you could see frost form on the roads – that is if the road isn’t under a half metre of snow. Low minus 6.

The weather is constantly changing. We are so preoccupied with Weather, weather, everywhere and it won’t give us too many sunny breaks, only moonlight nights. In Northern Ontario we enjoy mountains of pure lily white snow. We don’t complain as it is an important part of our lifestyle. We think Canadian as we glide down the mountain slopes on ski’s and the cold breeze on our face when we enjoy toboganing with the kids.Gee, we get a tan at home here in Canada and enjoy the dancing northern lights. Why should we complain?
