Karen caught my eye while I was out doing some Christmas shopping. When I asked to take her photo and told her what it was for she got a little excited… started dancing, even. It turns out she is in fact a dancer with the seraka dance company.
Again this week the focus is on another great coat — and with coats the cut is the most important aspect. A coat has to function to keep us warm, it adds bulk to our outfits, but I think it should reflect the overall shape of our body type. The cut of any article of clothing will make all the difference in the way it’s incorporated into an outfit, for instance, this jacket, if it was cut a little straighter might look a little too matronly for Karen, I’d say. But as it stands with its sharp lapels and hourglass angles, it suits her frame really well.

You might already know that I am an accessory fanatic, so when I see a great hat with a big honking flower on it, I think it’s great. I think it sets the look off and gives a bit of a 1920′s flavour.

Yeah, but patterns with patterns? I dunno. I love Houndstooth and Persian pickles, but not in the same outfit.
