StitchUp for Friday, Mar 16, 2012

After braving the cold on my walks to find a StitchUp candidate this week, I came to the realization that the wind was taking a shortcut through me rather than around me, so I was forced indoors. So last evening I headed into the bookstore to get a hot beverage to peruse the books and see if I could spot someone there. I was just about to call it an evening when I happened upon Megan, who was researching her next trip.

I was struck by the crisp line of her coat and the unadorned leather boot. The coat has a vintage feel with a hint of modernity to it. Megan’s purse also contains that throwback quality with its two toning and timeless metal claspy hardware. The colourful dangly bits are a great touch too. Again, the devil is in the details for me here: check out those earrings! They’re as playful as their little kitty hunting its dinner.

Be Alright

Steve Abbott is all right. Okay, maybe that’s an understatement. For example, just ask him about his new band, Be Alright, and he gets downright giddy. “When you’re in a new band,” he explains, “you’re gunning it, you’re just going for it.”
