We’ve been having such a hot summer, and it’s been interesting to see how different people try to beat the heat. Most hot days you see people just trying to wear as little as possible to keep cool — it’s all short-shorts and flip flops — but here Kim shows us a really nice example of a stylish way to keep the heat off.

Her delightful cotton dress with a simple pattern looks light and airy, and is paired with a simple pair strappy shoes. The addition of straightforward accessories like the thin necklace and purse add to the fresh, casual look.

Can you please stop hating on flip flops.

Bland look. But nice razorburn.
Oh, Stitchup…

It’s a nice dress and all, but it’s what you see 80% of girls sporting during the summer. Cute look, but not StitchUp worthy.

Dude just goes out and photographs his pals.

What a dick thing to say about the “razorburn” (of which there is none).

LOL, its true i have taken some shots of a couple of pals or people i’ve met before, but 90% of the people i photograph for this project are strangers to me until i shoot them. Then i notice those same people around town again and will either shoot them again or say hi and walk on by. No one has THAT many friends.

agreed i don’t even know where a comment like that would come from. yeesh.
i also disagree about the bland point. i stand by the fact that this outfit is a great way to look great while keeping cool.

Theres three types of footwear that i just can’t get over – flipflops, crocs and Uggs. it might be personal preference thing, but i’ve just never seen either done well.
prove me wrong, please.

Agreed.
Flipflops- On the beach only, please. No one wants to see your feet and dirty heels.
Crocs- So ugly and wrong on so many levels.
Uggs- Ugh. Just no.
I would like to add another usual summer faux-pas to the list that seems to be so popular around here- socks with sandals.
Anyone else have anything to add to the list?

deck shoes, desert boots.

See i like decks, if done right.

You’re a shoe snob. Flip flops are just sandals without a back.
