For the Love of Learning (FTLOL), a local not-for-profit providing arts and educational progams to at-risk youth, has relaunched its brand, and is moving to a new location. The five year-old organization had been calling the basement of the Gower Street United Church home, but when the church had to hike-up the rent to cover renovation costs, FTLOL decided to make a clean break and move to Cookstown Road, above Bridges to Hope.
FTLOL Executive Director Gemma Hickey says the organization is extremely grateful for the support of Gower Street United, but is also very excited to be moving into a new space.
“Perhaps the best thing about the new space is that we’re all together,” says Hickey. “Orginally, our offices were located on Queen’s Road, just down the road from our centre. Now all of our staff are in the same space… It makes things easier on so many levels.”
FTLOL is currently fixing up their new digs, getting them ready for the official opening early in the new year, as well as preparing for some board-level strategic planning to decide how to take advantage of the new space. In the meantime, they continue to offer programming at a variety of locations around town.
