Janelle

27/12/2012

It’s the time of year to celebrate and be merry, so for a lot of people that means chilling, grabbing some family time, taking a break from work, but if you’re like myself, you might get a little stir crazy and need to just get out for a walk.

I met Janelle while out and about this year when she was taking a poke around the downtown shops. Her use of colours other than just the seasonal red and green was refreshing, and the detailing on her jacket also stood out. It was a vintage clothing purchase from a previous trip to NYC. Her awesome ankle boots are also vintage, and bought locally at Model Citizens.

If you already know your style inclinations and do your research, it’s really easy to find high quality vintage pieces at the exceptional shops that are popping up everywhere. If you like a hunt, it can be rewarding to sift through many of every city’s thrift shops. A piece of clothing that fits pretty well plus a quick trip to the tailor shop will get you something truly unique.

She’s cute and I like the authenticity of her outfit. Far too many women in this town wear the same look and truth be told they hardly interest me if ever. This on the other hand? Wunderbar.

Great look! It’s refreshing to see people with their own sense of style. I agree there are far too many clones in these parts. Come on, people! There are lots of great shops-don’t be afraid.
