Did you know that this week was Polaroid Week? It’s one of my favourite times of the summer, so I figured I’d treat you guys and myself to using my good old Polaroid 600SE “Lucy” to seek out some vintage style.
Since I was kicking it old school with Polaroid 664 black and white peel-apart films, I wanted to find some people with a really subdued pallete, and that’s when I saw Tasha rocking a great Run-D.M.C. tee, and looking vintage enough to be Tasha Ramone. She even has the light coloured, extremely well-worn Chuck Taylors to add to the Ramones-esque look.
I like that she’s separated her almost completely black ensemble with the lighter vest underneath the leather jacket, and I also enjoy the textures at play between the cotton tee, rougher vest, and shine of the leather.

I’d barely peeled the last print from its chemical sheet when across the street strolled Katherine, looking like a rocker from another era.
My favourite little details here are that she played the floral pattern of the tights with an accent flower in the hair. I think the boots here work really well with everything else happening. Had they been fresh new-out-of-box boots I think that it would spoil the well-loved style of it all.
This photo of the belted summer dress doesn’t do Katherines outfit justice at all. The dress flowed freely in the wind, and made for an airy, whimsical look.

Yea, as a member of the opposite sex, I am a fan of tights and leggings, as an appreciator of style I like that they can add texture or color to an outfit, no matter what the season.

Allie, I’m a tightsaholic.
I wear em’ in the summer for a number of reasons. Maybe I didn’t shave my legs…they’re nice to wear with shoes instead of going barefoot..also I like to add colour and designs by wearing them with outfits. Oh, and they’re great at helping combat the old muffin top look, should you need assistance.
Tights rule, and I especially like the ones on misses. Fine look indeed.

I’m cool on wearing tights and leggings in the summer because it prevents thigh chafing. YEAH. THINK ABOUT IT.

tights also add a little bit of warmth that can be necessary in such a windy city, even in the summertime

Hi. I’m Katherine, the girl in the picture. I’m wearing tights because they look good with the outfit. Simple as that. It was a cold-ish day, and it’s always windy downtown. They’re thin tights; there’s hardly anything to them at all. So that’s why.

Fake or real, flowers are awesome. They add a nice whimsical touch to the outfit and there’s nothing wrong with a little whimsy, regardless of your age.

Gotta agree with “R” here, no matter what the age, a flower in the hair adds a nice touch.
