Had breakfast here this morning. I didn’t know what to expect going in, but breakfast is always safe. It was good. Looking out the window you can see a really industrial side of the harbour (it’s backed onto the salt hill) but it’s still interesting to look at. I had a traditional breakfast. The eggs were done well, and the serving was generous for the price. Service was good even though it was quite busy with demanding customers. Coffee was a little dark, but it’s a step up from Tim Hortons, and some people like it tarry. I wonder if they get any customers when its not tourist season? It’s attached to the Quality Inn, so I wonder.

Comfortable booth seating, nice view of the harbour. Food is fair to middling. Steaks are thin strips so you can’t order a good juicy medium-rare and their pan fried cod isn’t the best. They tend to play very jazzy music, so it is not a relaxing atmosphere.

Friendly staff, nice view, economical prices. Their pub food is a good bet and paninis are yummy. They have really good fries. Took off one star because sometimes their pan fried cod isn’t the greatest. You can have dinner for two with appetizer, dessert, and wine for about $65.

The food was good, the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was good, and the staff was excellent. Try the chicken sizzle.

A large group of us had dinner at Rumplestilskins on Thursday, December 2, 2010.
Food was good; however, the smoke from the cooking station irritated our eyes and throats, and the ladies bathroom was as dark as a dungeon.
Replace the vent hood with a larger/better model.
Install more lights in the ladies bathroom.

Try the Rosemary Chicken! The best! And if you dont like the pan friend cod, have the salmon! The staff are always friendly, and i like the acclectic lighting, and salt water fish tank! Good timez

A good menu with something to offer just about anyone according to personal taste , the prices are reasonable and the portions are excellent. The staff are great and service is exceptional . My personal favorite is the Rumple Screech And Creme , a seafood pasta dish that will bring you back for more !

Ate here last week for the first time in several years and was quite plased when I walked it! The new renos were badly needed and are quite nice! The menu hasn’t changed since I started going here 10 years ago, and luckilly the prices havn’t either!! The Waitress seem a bit jaded, but she was still attentive and efficient!! Great food, awesome atmosphere, amazing view – this place is a hidden gem in St. John’s!!

ate there recently partially on the strength of recent renovations-could have done without the carpet which is already showing dirt!
waitress was friendly but food was very tired! a preponderance of booths leaves little real table seating.

We were very pleased with the food and service at Rumplestiltskins, it was very clean and family friendly. the menu was easy to read, but lacked food descriptions, yet had a good variety and something for everyone. The prices were mainly reasonable but a few options were slightly overpriced. The decor was lovely and not overwhelming, but the lighting was slightly too dark for our liking. Our waiter was very jolly, and friendly. The washrooms were very orderly and clean which was good. The food was delicious and succulent and pleasing indeed.

FAIL! made a reservation asking to be seated close to the water. When we arrived for our reservation there were 3 tables in use. we were seated at the front of the restaurant, the furthest away from the water next to the server station. We asked to be moved 3 times and was ignored by the manager. Finally I got up and moved myself to a vacant spot with a view. The manager immediately stormed over and said you can’t sit here it’s reserved. I said I made a reservation and you gave us the worst seat. He told me you can’t seat yourself and that our reservation wasn’t important. Why was ours unimportant, but someone else’s was? meanwhile the place was basically empty?? DO NOT GO TO THIS SNOBBISH ESTABLISHMENT!
