The best food ever. Not even in Toronto can i find it as good
when the owner stoped cooking, the food went downhill fast. too bad because it was the best ever. oh well, all good things must come to an end.
Tasty South Asian homestyle cooking at a budget price!
Very tasty and flavorful food, and very affordable! There are few places to find food of this quality…
A casual and friendly place that serves a south asian meal. There is no need to ask for a menu because it’s the same meal–you can have it either vegetarian, chicken, or lamb. Service can be slow.
It’s good healthy nutritious food at a fair price. Excellent value.
I came across this page while surfing, and just the name of the restaurant makes my mouth water… mmm. Best Curry I\’ve ever had… but be aware, to reiterate what Klimax said above, you have 2 choices, vegetarian or meat (usually chicken, sometimes they offer lamb) but you get whatever the meal is for that day… but it doesn\’t matter, anything she puts on the take out plate is just heaven wrapped in styrofoam. Not sure if Im being entirely clear on how much I love this place, lol.
simple and delicious food at an affordable price , the chicken and lentils I had were quite yum :)
Closest thing I have had to home cooked pakistani food.
soooooo good and so cheap haha what else is there to say! :)
Delicious. Great portion sizes. Great price for what you get. When I lived in the area I found myself grabbing some take out 2-3 times a week. Yum.
Cheap and Cheerful, delicious food and warm service. Excellent place to warm up after a cold hike. Lovely with a chai tea.
It’s well-deserving of its high marks. The vegetarian curry is incredibly filling, the samosas are top-notch, and the owner is really, really nice. I have never been completely stuffed for so cheaply and satisfyingly as this place.
Just went back to International Flavours after far too long a hiatus. As usual the food was hot, delicious, and huge portions for a really great price. I noticed they now have two serving sizes (medium and large). I had to laugh when I saw the plates though (I had medium and my husband the large) as I think they should be renamed large and larger. :)
The samosas were crispy and delicious and the naan was fresh. Our server was run a bit ragged as the place was busy with take away as well as sit down orders but he was friendly and cheerful to all.
I definitely won’t wait so long to go back again!
Excellent chicken curry and naan! The price is right and the service is spot on!!!
Very happy customer, will return for sure:)
Have eaten here many times and have enjoyed the food however ate here this week and can only say the service was poor and the food about the same. price is right however the chicken curry needs improvement.
I really like this place, but it gets enough adoration already so I’m going to point out a few reasons why this restaurant isn’t perfect, just so we can keep this review section balanced.
The food isn’t consistent, even though the restaurant only serves one dish. It depends on who is working the kitchen that day. It’s never truly bad, but it’s not always truly great either.
The restaurant is cold during the winter. It’s uncomfortable, and the food gets cold too fast.
The owner and her staff are very nice people, but there is no real service to speak of. They basically bring your food and then go back in the kitchen. If you want a drink or a glass of water you get it yourself. I’m not complaining about this, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re the type who likes to be doted on by wait staff.
Lastly, it isn’t as cheap as people suggest. I don’t consider it overpriced, but a lot of these comments mention how cheap the place is and I don’t think that is the case. It may have an exotic flavor, but it’s still essentially a plate of rice, beans, and veggies with a few small pieces of meat if you choose. After the main dish, some bread or samosas, and a drink you’re looking at a price tag that isn’t significantly lower than what you would pay at other Indian restaurants for an all-you-can-eat buffet. Once again I’m not complaining but I still wouldn’t exaggerate the cheapness of this place.
I still love the place and will keep going back, but I think people should be aware of these things.
Yeah, yeah. It’s frigid in the winter, the service can be dreadful, and when the proprietor is away the food loses something. But still the best simple plate of curry, pulse/legume rice going in Canada for this price. And it’s in town. The Talat method has some magic.
At best, an average Indian restaurant.
They give you a plate full of rice, some
veggies, four pieces of chicken on top
and they call it “large chicken”. Sure it
is cheap but disappointed me.
We get take out from here about once or twice a month. Two “chicken dinners” (sometimes you can get lamb too) shared between my wife and I and our two small children is a full meal. At around 22 bucks tax in, you cannot beat the value, and it tastes great. Also, friendly service.
My favorite place to eat in this city. The food is absolutely delicious and is consistently good. Good value for the amount of food you get and the staff are very nice.
I havent eaten out in a while but a few friends and I went down yesterday. It was just as good as I remembered, a nice warming flavourful meal for a good price. Also the service was extremely fast and very nice. Cant wait to go there again.
I’ve eaten there plenty of times and it really never disappoints. Large portions and great value with kind and quick service makes this place one of the best in the city in my opinion.
