I love Boston Pizza. It can be very busy there at times so it’s a good idea to make a reservation. The food is always consistently great, tastes the same every time.
cold food, three hours from sitting to bills, inattentive service.
bright side: mgr sent out gift cards to everyone at the table- not that we’ll be back any time soon.
(and they wouldn’t let us make a reservation even though there were fifteen plus!)
Over priced, noisy, not great service. Better places to spend what it would cost you here. We also had a bad experience and were given the gift card to come back. I am not sure I get the point to go back and get more of the same poor service in a noisy atmosphere.
Always a disappointment.
Very loud and very processed.
Long wait time to get served and once the food is on the table good luck finding your waiter if you need anything else.
Last time I was there I was finally served dinner with no fork, knife or spoon! I had to go to the waiter station and get napkins and cutlery myself.
Their motto seems to be “don’t let the door hit ya in the arse on the way out!”
Don’t bother – pure garbage!
My favorite place. I went there last sunday the waitress seemed very cheerful and was pretty quick with our drink orders. We ordered twist bread for an appetizer but when we got it she didn’t bring it to us some other waiter did. The service was great and the waitress always made sure we got a refill on our drinks. My most favorite restaurant in the city and I’ll DEFINATELY be going back.
I think I’ve been there about 4 times now (3 at the suggestion of others), and the food is consistently blah.
I LOVE this restaurant!!! One of my favorites actually. The food is great (especially the twist bread) and so is the service. I love going there with my family and friends. Also, i don’t know why some people complain about the service and how slow they bring food, it’s actually not THAT slow… anyways… I love this restaurant and i probably always will. :) NEVER a disappointment.
In terms of value for money, Boston Pizza is probably the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. Their overpriced food just isn’t good, it’s as simple as that. I’ve eaten there several times and I can remember each experience;
The first time I ate there I had spaghetti and meatballs. It was a huge portion but it tasted like Chef Boyardee.
Another time I had the “prime rib burger”. It tasted like a bologna sandwich. McDonalds makes a far better burger, and I’m not exactly a fan of them either.
The next time I went there I had chili as an appetizer. It tasted like the canned chili you can buy at Wal-Mart for 79 cents a can. Not only that but it had obviously been frozen and thawed out in a microwave. Some of the beans were still frozen. Then I had some sort of pizza sandwich. It was basically like a 6 inch Subway pizza sub except with crap bread and no vegetables. I could have gotten something similar, but much better, at Subway for about 1/4 of the price or less.
Can you see a pattern here? Boston Pizza charges upscale prices for food that in terms of quality falls somewhere between McDonalds and no-name supermarket brands. It is not fit to eat, and it is a total rip off. I will never eat there again. Each one of those visits I mentioned probably cost upwards of $20.
I was going to say that there should be a zero star option, however I think that the BP staff deserve at least one star. They don’t set the menus or the prices, and the servers there are excellent.
Overpriced, garbage food! There are countless better places to eat at that won’t hurt your wallet! zero stars if possible!
Always great service. Best sports bar in the city by far. I like eating in these national chains and am glad they have made their way to Newfoundland. This is what casual dining is. It’s not “high end” as some people call it. By far better service than any other place in the city.
Service was very slow. When we complained, they told us they were very busy even though the majority of their tables were empty, and there were quite a few waitresses on duty. I got the Tuscan pizza, which was pretty good, but my friend’s Boston Brute arrived lukewarm, as though it had been sitting on the counter for the whole 45 mins we were waiting. Not really eager to go back.
Please ignore all the negative comments. I don’t know about the Stavanger Drive located but Kelsey’s ROCKS! I agree that their regular menu is a bit overpriced but the food is always good. Their service is also exceptional. I’ve never had a bad experience with any server. They always seems eager to please. Overall, one of my favorite spots in the city and a great atmosphere to have a few drinks in the bar. Make a reservation in advanced, their always busy. Just shows that other people think the same way I do.
Had lunch at Kelsey Drive Boston Pizza today. Food took a very long time to arrive, and the fries and onion rings/sticks were totally cold. Told the waitress and she replaced the fries. I gave up on the onion rings after telling her twice. The third time I told her she said she did not know and offered to replace them. They also forgot the dipping sauce for the steak skewers; lunch was almost finished when they brought it. Food was otherwise ok, but at the prices they charge there are many better options in the city. Will not return to this location.
always my fall back restaurant ! Whenever I go out for supper, it always ends up being Boston Pizza. Mainly because we have never had a bad experience, and they have food there for everyone. Sometimes me and my boyfriend go for munchies ( Thai Bites & Nachos ) or with a group for a meal and neither have ever been a disappointment. The food is always hot, and service is fairly quick. I have been there with children several times, and the servers are always very good with them. My favorite, hands down !
Stavanger drive location just plain sucks. I won’t be back. Food just isn’t good.
I know this place is popular, but it can’t be for the food, must be for the bar.
I’ve been to Stavanger drive location a couple of times when they first opened for lunch with a group, and the food I ordered was decent pub fare. A beef dip, which I thought was great, and another time ordered a thin-crust veggie pizza that wasn’t great, but met expectations.
But seems like the menu has since changed, as my more recent experiences left me wondering why a restaurant without a drive through window serves food that tastes so “processed”.
My last visit was to use a gift card and a free kids meal certificate. My little guy ordered the kids meal salmon, and at free, was overpriced, it was that bad. My husband thought his cajun pasta dish was ‘okay’, I had a cheese ravioli that tasted like a family-sized frozen dinner that you can buy at the grocery store, was reheated, and put on my plate.
I’ll give them one star, for their pizza (which we ordered at a previous visit) and bar selection.
Been there a few times and was not impressed. Overpriced is an understatement. When I went there with just two other people we at least got our meals hot, but they have no idea how to handle large groups. Went for a friend’s birthday dinner, about 12 people, and half the table had finished their cold entrees by the time the rest of us got our even colder entrees. The shrimp in my pasta dish were partially frozen — at least they were pre-cooked, I guess? Almost everyone in our group said they found their meals far too salty, except for my friend sitting next to me, who said her entree tasted the way Pledge furniture polish smells. Apparently the salmon dish she had was coated in a very cheap artificial lemon pepper-like seasoning, hence the Pledge taste. The manager was decent about the whole affair and gave us all gift cards for personal pizzas, but I doubt I’ll use mine — I can’t handle food that salty unless I’m REALLY in the mood for it.
The Scope is no more! Thanks for seven amazing years.
