“You’ll Get Yours” by The Comuppins
There’s nothing better than a loud, hairy rock band that can work a crowd into a frenzy and blow the roof of a club. The Comuppins is one of several bands in St. John’s that enjoy such a reputation. This Friday (Jan 11th), though, you’ll have a chance to hear the boys bring it down a few notches under 11 for a special unplugged performance at CBTG’s. Alex Cornick (drums), Jeff Ronan (guitar/vocals), Jason Murphy (bass) and front-man extraordinaire Mike Worthman (vocals/guitar), have been making a stir on the local scene since 2007 when they formed The Comuppins. Today’s track, the anthemic “You Get Yours” is from the groups 2009 debut Heatbag, which I was fortunate enough to find a used copy of at Fred’s sometime ago and have been enjoying ever since. Drop by CBTG’s Friday (Jan 11th) and let The Comuppins melt your winter blues away. They’ll also be joined by Hudson Hogarth, The Beer Patrice, Electrikompany and Navigator Black & The Indighost. Show starts at 10pm.
