“Safe Here” by Craig Cardiff

This Saturday (Oct 27th), Waterloo, Ontario singer-songwriter Craig Cardiff will be making his long awaited Newfoundland debut at The Rocket Room. Craig began making music in 1996 when he released his debut album Stuck In Outerspace. Since then he has released more than ten records, the most recent of which is 2011’s Floods & Fires as well as a host of live albums and EPs.

Over the years Craig has become known for his grassroots approach to distributing his music; relying more on word of mouth than advertising and label support. His 2007 album Goodnight (Go Home) was released with an extra CD which he encouraged fans to give to a friend in order to spread the word about his music. He has also released albums via i-Pod/i-Pad apps (Mistletoe, 2008) and for free download on his website (Songs For Lucy, 2010).

Today’s track “Safe Here” is from Craig’s latest record, Floods & Fires, which was nominated this year for a JUNO in the category Roots & Traditional Album of The Year. Drop by The Rocket Room Saturday night (Oct 27th) to hear more from Cardiff and help spread the word.
