“Oh So Much” by Cinéma L’amour

Montreal duo Cinéma L’amour will kick off the Newfoundland leg of their current East Coast Tour tonight (July 23rd) at Clancy’s in Stephenville. This will be Dorian Scheidt’s (vocals, guitar, synth/effects) and Chis Kavanagh’s (drums) third stint of shows in the province, their most recent being last year.

The band describe themselves as “loop rock”, which means they use a variety of loops and effects to create rich, atmospheric textures around a backbone of drums and guitar. Although it is rock, don’t expect 4/4 time signatures and straight ahead riffs from these guys. The band say they suffer musical ADD — they’re not content to follow one direction for too long.

Cinéma L’amour have spent the last two and a half years working on their most recent album Limitations which was just released this past May. Today’s track “Oh So Much” is the opening track from that album, which you can hear in its entirety at the link below. Newfoundland dates and venues for their tour are listed below.
