Wyatt Hirschfeld Shibley – Provehito in Profundum

Aug 29, 2012

Elling Lien continues posting from his collection of previously unpublished reviews of some of his favourite local RPM Challenge albums. Damian Lethbridge’s Track of the Day posts will continue in September.

I heard that originally this was going to be an all jaw harp album, and I’ve no doubt Shibley could have done pulled that off with style, but personally I’m happy he used other instruments here, because this collection of lo-fi folk originals turned out to be a very enjoyable listen. It also contains 99 per cent of your required daily nutritional intake of nostalgia-inducing tape warble.
