For sheer visual appeal, few things rival the sight of skiers churning effortless esses down powdery slopes. Luckily, a healthy sub-genre of film exists solely to bring this vicarious Zen to mesmerized audiences. Freeride Mountain Sports and Marble Mountain are teaming up to present a double feature of ski flicks in advance of the season. Attack of La Niña features skiing from areas that benefited from La Niña’s heavy snowfall last year, and Solitaire was filmed in the otherworldly winter expanse of South America’s high deserts. Both are sure to get you amped for the ski season. The films are screening at the LSPU Hall at 8pm, November 3. Tickets are $14 and are available at the Hall’s box office.
