Might be time to break out ye olde earplugs: Toronto trio Metz are playing a twofer of dates in town this month. Their sludgy sound recalls the glory days of early 90s post-punk and math rock outfits like Slint, Don Caballero, and Killdozer, and as you might expect, it’s as loud as it gets. Local support is a who’s-who of the St. John’s rock and roll scene. Colonel Craze & The Hunch, Derm Kean & An Incredible Woman, and The Drunks Rule This Place will open for Metz at the Ship on the 24th. Monsterbator, Local Tough, and Polina start the eardrums bleeding at Distortion on the 25th. Both shows start at 10:30pm.
