Describing a tome full of fantastical creatures, the term “bestiary” has sadly fallen out of use in the last 500 years. But this month the Leyton Gallery revives it for a new exhibition of work from some of the city’s finest artists.
Bestiary is a menagerie of work, ranging from the whimsical creations of Jennifer Barrett, to Michael Pittman’s brooding, atmospheric canvases, to Sarah Hillock’s homage to cows.
The exhibit runs from the 1st to the 23rd, at the Leyton Gallery on Clift’s-Baird’s Cove. The opening reception is on October 1 at 3pm.
