No, that’s not the worst typo for carnival you’ve ever seen. A caravanserai was a kind of Silk Road truckstop, a place for travellers to rest and take in some entertainment after a long, dusty day on camelback. This month, instead of the sun-baked steppes of the Silk Road, the foggy shores of Newfoundland will play host to a caravanserai of its own, complete with exotic entertainments. Seraka Dance Company presents an evening of belly dance performances, circus acts, magicians, musicians, and more, to delight the road-weariest townie. The event is hosted by Trixie Baggins and features performances by Stephanie Moyst, Andrea Roberts and Janice Anthony, Isla Flamenca, Company of Gypsies, Island Belles Burlesque, Evelyn Osbourne, and others.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. See you at the the Rock House, 8pm.
