Fiesta Tropical

Is there a better way to welcome the summer than to pretend we live in a tropical climate?

Sure, it’s St. John’s and the night of June 23rd will probably be rainy and sweater-worthy, but after enough coconut rum and working up a good sweat on the dance floor at the Fiesta Tropical party, you’ll be seeing palm trees for sure.

Heralded as a celebration of summer with “an explosive urban mix of salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton/dancehall and underground tropical beats”, the night features DJ Slue and DJ Chamba from 10pm to 2am. DJ Chamba headed up a successful Latin Party last month at Pulse and has been working hard to introduce the local dance club scene to more diverse music styles. This time he’s bringing along newcomer DJ Slue to help him out.

Fiesta Tropical takes place June 23rd at Liquid Ice, 186b Water Street. Cover is 5$ at the door and promotional giveaways will be going on throughout the night. The tropical beats end at 2pm, with Liquid Ice regulars DJ Mike Taylor and DJ Leo V. Ulden taking over the decks until 5am..

Awash with success

I hate how local media is always bragging about the success of local bands, when 99.9% of this provinces musicians are making less then minimum wage from their music. Washing dishes all year to pay for your bands summer tour is NOT success… it is FAILURE. Ranter: Show me the money
