Chris Picco is St. John’s latest repatriated ex-patriot musician. Back from Toronto to record the follow-up to his 2005 debut album, he has teamed up with Mark Neary, Elliott Dicks and Mark Bragg to create the hottest straight-up rock band this city has heard in ages. With a pocketful of ECMA and MusicNL nominations and awards between them, there is no disputing this group’s credentials.
Chris has been honing his new material at solo acoustic gigs since August. Now, with a full band, the songs leap out from the stage. With rhythms from the Novak boys, Bragg’s groovy keyboards and Chris’s melodic poetry of time and motion, the Chris Picco Band draws the crowd in with their obvious delight in creating great music.
Their sound is evolving with each show and time in the studio. Catch them live and become a part of the process.
Chris Picco Band plays The Ship Pub on Saturday, November 25th, with Nordic Beat and Texas Chainsaw. Show starts 11:30pm, CPB take the stage 1:30am. $5 cover.
