The Canada Council for the Arts is in its 50th year, and to celebrate they’re developing a new plan for the future. (Eek!)
Well, at least you can have your say by filling out the survey on their website. To give you a taste, here are a few of the (slightly frightening) questions they ask:
• How important do you think a National Arts Council is, and why? …
• Is there anything the Council does that it no longer needs to be doing or that could be done by others? If so, what is it and who should do it?
• Where should the Council be spending more of its resources? Where should it be spending less?
They’re accepting feedback until June 15 at tinyurl.com/2zxb7c
If you want to go out and rip it up but don’t want to wake up the next morning feeling hungover and sad that you wasted yet another opportunity to change the world, then fear not! I hear a fundraiser pub crawl in the distance!
The first annual East Coaster Pub Crawl, happening on June 15, will be a fundraiser for the Children’s Aid Foundation, which is dedicated to helping improve the lives of abused or neglected children.
The organizers are expecting somewhere around 2000 participants in St. John’s alone, so this is raring up to be the pub crawl to end all pub crawls. Go to eastcoasterpubcrawl.com to register, or for more info. $20 will get you on board.
