Halloween is months away, but for the crew of Newfoundland and Labrador Paranormal, it’s always a good time for a séance.
Newfoundland and Labrador Paranormal (Saturdays at midnight on NTV) documents the team’s spiritual stakeouts of the most haunted locations the province has to offer.
“Our favorite location so far has been Mockbeggar Plantation in Bonavista,” says Erin Sonley, co-creator of the show. ”It has a history that dates back over 300 years and is said to be the most haunted place in Newfoundland.”
For citydwellers, Sonley suspects amateur mediums won’t have to travel far to find a phantasm.
“St. John’s has such a long history that there are ghost stories from everywhere,” says Sonley. “Most of them seem concentrated in the downtown area. This is probably because of the age of the buildings and the number of people who have been through them over the years.”
The gang is expanding their portfolio to include Newfoundland’s version of Bigfoot and other cryptozoological specimens.
“We’re looking forward to contributing for the search for out lake monster ‘Cressie’.” Cressie is the eel-like creature that allegedly lives in Crescent Lake, near Robert’s Arm, which has been spotted by locals since the 1950s. “Soon as the weather breaks, it’s a road tour to find Nessie’s long lost sister!”
Newfoundland and Labrador Paranormal, airs Saturdays at midnight on NTV.

This is the worst show I’ve ever seen. And not in a fun bad way like RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Well I hope the show is better edited than that trailer.

I really like this show, it may be a bit rough, but according to NTV this show has NO budget and a production team of 2 people. For resorses like that, I think they are doing great!! Republic of Doyle has a budget of over a million dollars an episode…I bet if they had money like that to work with, the quality would improve astronomically!! Instead of tearing apart a %100 local production, you should show support to someone who had the guts to do this. Excellent job Newfoundland And Labrador Paranormal….can’t wait for tonight’s episode!!

To think, over a million dollars an episode can get you a show with quality as high as…Republic of Doyle.

I actually love the *idea* of the show, the execution however leaves a lot to be desired. I watch a ton of ghost hunting/paranormal shows. A few tweaks could improve this show, budget or not. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes for future shows. Drop the cheesy music would help immensely.
