Ah yes, the (in)famous hobby horse. I remember my grandmother telling me stories of drunken teenagers, masquerading as mummers, going around the bay and causing all kinds of mischief during christmas. The hobby horse can get very rowdy once it’s had a few drinks in it; eventually my grandparents gave up on entertaining mummers after a hobby horse hauled a burning log out of the wood stove and onto the kitchen floor.
